Senior Application Engineer – Wireless Systems

We’re recruiting for a senior wireless engineering role with a well-established semiconductor company in the Neuchâtel region, active globally in ultra‑low‑power ICs for battery‑operated and energy‑efficient products. The environment is highly technical, international, and very close to R&D, product, and application teams.

You’ll work on advanced wireless applications and reference designs built on in‑house SoC platforms. Acting as a technical bridge between R&D, product management, and customers, you’ll support complex use cases and help bring robust wireless solutions into real‑world deployment. This is a senior, hands‑on position combining embedded software, hardware interaction, and customer‑facing technical support.

• Develop wireless applications around Bluetooth Low Energy and related protocols
• Build and maintain demo kits, SDK adaptations, reference designs, and use cases
• Run technical benchmarking and competitive analysis
• Work closely with R&D and product teams on application‑specific features
• Support strategic customers during design‑in and deployment
• Train and support Field Application Engineers
• Contribute to roadmap discussions, project reviews, and technical reporting
• Collaborate actively across teams

• Embedded firmware for radio controllers and protocol stacks
• Driver development (radio, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, timers, RTC)
• RTOS‑based real‑time systems
• Integration on SoC, MCU, and ASIC platforms
• Hardware and software debugging using lab equipment

• Degree in computer or electrical engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 8+ years of embedded software experience
• Strong C/C++, solid Python, exposure to low‑level systems
• Hands‑on RTOS experience
• Proven background in wireless embedded systems for semiconductors
• Firmware experience for radio controllers and communication stacks
• Solid knowledge of BLE and proprietary wireless protocols
• Fluent English (daily working language)
