Your ‘day to day’

As a Sr. Engineer - eVapor - you will strengthen the foundations that enable robust product innovation and development, providing end‑to‑end safety evaluations support across the product lifecycle through Safety Evaluations management, test oversight, result pre assessment, and issue resolution.

You will act as a strategic specialist with Product Safety, Quality, CMF, Product Development and material innovation teams, use CAD‑based design analysis to actively assess and optimize product designs where needed. You will also evaluate new and alternative materials (e.g., recyclable and biodegradable solutions) and translate technical, chemical, and safety insights into design and material choices. In addition, you will enable safe, compliant, and forward‑looking product development and innovation.

specifically, you'll
  • Ensure by design Safety and Compliance of products by driving correct interpretation, application, and execution of requirements as well as assessments across the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure internally and externally a clear and consistent understanding of Safety expectations, requirements, and objectives, particularly during characterization and critical development phases.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product design, CAD models, materials, and functionalities to ensure safety assessments are scientifically sound and contextually accurate.
  • Analyze product designs using CAD (Solid Works or equivalent) to identify potential risks and constraints and proactively propose design modifications or alternatives to mitigate safety risks while preserving product functionality and performance.
  • Be responsible for the preparation, coordination, and follow up of Safety Assessments, ensuring requested tests and analyses are properly defined, performed, and tracked to completion in line with QS requirements. Perform first‑level scientific review of test results and analyses to assess relevance, quality, and consistency prior to final assessments.
  • Provide experienced support to Quality in the resolution of safety related nonconformities or issues arising from design and laboratory activities.
  • Be accountable for driving evaluation of new and alternative materials (recycled, recyclable, biodegradable), including assessment of technical, chemical, and regulatory implications to enable compliant innovation.
Who we’re looking for
  • Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent scientific or engineering area.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product development environments where safety, materials, and design decisions are tightly coupled, ideally within regulated or compliance‑driven industries.
  • Prior exposure to the eVapor development and regulatory environment is an asset.
  • Expertise in material, chemical, and safety assessments, translating scientific constraints into robust design and material choices.
