Perfume Sustainability & Due Dilligence
To strengthen our Environment and Regulatory Affairs team within the Perfume Division based in Neuchâtel, we are recruiting a highly motivated and technically proficient Sustainability Engineer to drive our sustainability initiatives, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance, due diligence and packaging. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of current and emerging sustainability regulations, in-depth knowledge of due diligence principles, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable strategies.
Knowledge or practical experience in packaging engineering would be an advantage.
- Manage the technical side of sustainability product regulations, including but not limited to PPWR, Green Claims Directive, EUDR, CSRD, and CS3D.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business strategies and product development guidelines.
- Monitor regulatory landscapes and proactively identify potential impacts and opportunities for our products and operations.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant sustainability regulations.
- Contribute to the development of a strategy to ensure full compliance with the due diligence standards, and ensure its implementation by the various stakeholders, integrating environmental and social responsibility into the company's core activities, decision‑making processes, and management systems.
- Design integrated systems and processes for collecting sustainability data that can be used for both due diligence management and reporting.
- In collaboration with the Purchasing team, conduct environmental and social audits in tandem with the Quality team to assess actual and potential negative impacts on human rights and the environment throughout our value chain and manage the resulting corrective action plans.
- Oversee the continuous improvement and monitoring of the PBU's climate transition plan, in line with global climate goals and the Group's sustainability commitments.
- Monitor the effectiveness of due diligence processes, identify areas for improvement, and promote continuous improvement in sustainable practices and ethical sourcing within the PBU.
- Provide all relevant information to enable Creative and Development teams to minimize the environmental impact of designs, packaging materials, and processes (e.g., reduce waste, increase recyclability).
- Manage key performance indicators to effectively monitor the environmental performance of packaging, particularly via the Power BI platform.
- Handle the emission factors related to packaging and their matching in the various tools used (Edi Box, Power BI, Tennaxia, etc.).
- Conduct impact assessments of new regulations and updates to the LVMH Charter of Commitment to measure the level of compliance of our packaging and establish related compliance roadmaps.
- Provide distributors/business partners/markets with the data they need to fulfill their EPR obligations or other packaging‑related obligations (e.g., plastic taxes, U.S. tariff duties).
Holder of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, you bring solid experience and expertise in sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Passionate about sustainable development, you have a strong understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and are able to translate complex requirements into practical and actionable solutions. You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within ambitious timelines.
Recognized for your proactive mindset, attention to detail, and structured approach, you demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills. You are able to work effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders and drive sustainability initiatives across the organization while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Fluent in both French and English, you possess strong communication skills that enable you to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset.
