Our dynamic and successful Business Unit dedicated to Micro & Nano Systems, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is looking for a business-savvy, visionary and communicative Business Unit Leader.
- Define and deploy the strategy of the Business Unit in alignment with the company's strategy
- Proactively participate to the Executive Committee
- Steer the relationship with local stakeholders (Canton NE, EPFL, Industry associations)
- Define the research program and technology roadmap activities of the BU
- Define the business development strategy and programs
- Drive the business acquisition and ensure a good relationship with all internal and external partners
- Set the BU Communication and Marketing activities in collaboration with the central Business Development and MARCOM team
- Proactively support the internal collaboration with the other BU Leaders
- Define, control and ensure the BU’s budget and financial reporting
- Manage and approve the project portfolio and all BU investments
- Drive and supervise the Microfabrication operations and Cleanroom strategic investments in concert with local stakeholders
- Ensure that the BU meets the company's Quality standards (ISO Standards 9001 and 14001)
- Supervise and ensure the Project delivery and Microfabrication quality commitment to clients
- Supervise external audits and evaluate external audit reports, in collaboration with the Quality Managers
- Lead a BU of over 80 experts and engineers
- Directly manage a team of 8 senior leaders (Deputy BU Leader, Group Leaders, Research, Business Development, Operations and Finance Managers)
- Define annual goals and ensure the development of all employees at BU level, in particular the development of young talents
- Maintain a motivating and balanced high-tech working environment
- In collaboration with the VP Human Resources and HRBP, approve all hirings and promotions, and ensure the equity of salaries
- Responsible for the political networking and contracts in the Canton of Neuchatel and other institutional stakeholders
- At least a Master’s degree in Engineering, PhD or MBA as an asset
- International experience in high-tech industry is highly desirable
- At least 10 years experience in senior management position in high-tech industry - Semiconductors, Electronics components & devices, Photonics, Micro Systems
- High level overview and understanding of the global high-tech industry
- Business acumen and understanding of industry macro trends
- Good understanding of Micro Systems driven application domains as medical devices, electronic systems, instrumentation, energy, and emerging one as quantum, nano-tech, space-tech, Additive Manufacturing
- Strong capabilities to drive financial aspects and work closely with CFO office
- Proven experience in managing and motivating teams of highly skilled technical experts
- Fluent in English and French
- An inspiring leader with excellent listening skills and the ability to build trust among customers, partners and collaborators
- Ability to define a vision and to provide clear directions and priorities to execute on it
- Strong analytical skills combined with structured and critical thinking
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with industry, academic and institutional stakeholder
- Proven networking skills, with a strong network in Switzerland, EU and worldwide
- Open-minded and creative thinking
- Able to work under pressure
- Customer- and service-oriented mindset and solution-driven approach
