Turquoise Ridge - Metallurgist

We are seeking a skilled Metallurgist I to join our Turquoise Ridge operation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the metallurgical processes at our plant, which treats refractory gold ore through pressure oxidation in autoclaves followed by Carbon‑In‑Leach (CIL) processing. This role requires a solid understanding of refractory gold treatment, pressure oxidation, and CIL processes, along with problem‑solving and analytical skills.

• Work closely with production and maintenance supervision along with other outside departments to ensure environmental compliance and safe functionality of the plant operation and maintaining of equipment.
• Work on projects through all aspects of experimental design, engineering, forecasting, funding, construction, and commissioning.
• Continue to develop automation of data collection.
• Provide technical assistance and analysis to process group stakeholders.
• Be familiar with strategic business planning and propose process improvement to maximize cash flow.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Process‑related degree required.
• Knowledge of the principles and methods used in metallurgical and processing analysis, having some practical application and process optimization experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to research, analyze information and draw conclusions, and take action to resolve operational, environmental issues, permit compliance, and problem resolution from an operating plan status required.
• Proficiency in multiple software application and network platforms preferred.
• Ability to learn how to manipulate and analyze large datasets programmatically preferred.
• Ability to work with Power
  
  BI, Tableau or set‑up databases would be well regarded preferred.
• Experience with the analytical instrumentation and theory of ion exchange is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment that creates and enhances the Barrick vision through understanding and capturing of future opportunities preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
