• Demonstrate safety leadership and safety consciousness
• Train coworkers in the safe and efficient use of equipment
• Manage sample inventory and related warehouse material safely, without damage to people, property, or process
• Maintain accurate records of new materials placed into storage and understand storage locations
• Complete periodic daily workplace inspections and address issues within individual capabilities
• Photograph drill core accurately, preserving natural colors and minimizing distortion
• Ensure timely shipments to laboratories and complete required forms
• Identify naming and numbering errors in sample handling procedures
• Read and understand material retrieval requests, collect materials and ship accordingly
• Participate in safety audits, training, and scheduling
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Geology Department

• Knowledge of safety and environmental policies and practices, and willingness to develop related skill sets
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated safe work habits and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Capable of lifting 30 lbs repetitively and 50 lbs for short periods
• Basic math skills
• Previous experience at a mine operation or exploration project preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
