A Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health provides patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting, supporting clinicians and ensuring patients receive high‑quality service. Responsibilities include caring for patients with acute and chronic needs and communicating effectively via telephone and in‑person interactions.
Shift DetailsFull‑time (40 hrs/wk) – 4×12 hr shifts with a half day of 6 hrs. Clinic is open 7 days a week.
Unit/LocationPahrump Insta Care Clinic, Pahrump, NV (Nevada)
Role Responsibilities- Provide patient care under clinician direction, gathering information relevant to visits and conditions.
- Communicate clearly with patients via telephone and in‑person interactions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to coordinate patient care, maintaining attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR a current active and in‑good‑standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers (obtain prior to start).
- Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and colleagues to deliver high customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
- Utah residents with less than one year of MA experience may attend a year‑long MA residency program.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and related software.
- Current national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA).
$19.87 - $28.31 per hour, depending on experience.
