Role OverviewThe Senior Recruiter – Mining is a strategic, delivery-focused recruiting professional responsible for attracting and hiring highly skilled, technical, and experienced senior mining talent in support of Anglo Gold Ashanti’s Nevada Project. This role reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition Delivery and is based out of our new office in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This role requires a high degree of independence, strong stakeholder partnership skills, and deep experience recruiting technical and experienced mining roles
—not high-volume or entry-level positions. The Senior Recruiter serves as a trusted advisor to hiring leaders and as a visible brand ambassador for Anglo Gold Ashanti across college campuses, industry events, and local community hiring events.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for highly skilled and technical mining roles (e.g., engineering, geology, construction, hydrogeology, electrical engineering, safety, and corporate technical functions).
- Manage requisitions independently from intake through offer and onboarding, ensuring quality, timeliness, and a positive candidate experience.
- Develop tailored sourcing and recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill, niche, and critical technical roles.
- Partner closely with hiring managers, project leaders, and HR Business Partners to understand workforce plans, technical requirements, and project timelines.
- Provide consultative guidance on market conditions, talent availability, compensation positioning, and hiring risks.
- Act as a trusted extension of the business while maintaining strong governance and process discipline.
- Proactively build talent pipelines through direct sourcing, networking, and relationship-based recruiting.
- Represent Anglo Gold Ashanti at college campuses, career fairs, professional associations, and community events to support early-career and experienced-hire pipelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with universities, technical programs, and local community partners aligned to mining and engineering disciplines.
- Serve as a professional ambassador for Anglo Gold Ashanti, clearly communicating the company’s values, culture, and long-term growth opportunities.
- Support employer branding initiatives in partnership with Talent Acquisition and Communications teams.
- Ensure a consistent, professional presence at external events and engagements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the applicant tracking system.
- Ensure all recruitment activities align with company policies, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and best practice sharing across the global Talent Acquisition team.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive recruiting experience, with direct experience in the mining industry, or alternatively oil & gas industry, engineering, or technical project environments
. - Proven track record recruiting highly skilled, experience, and technical roles (not volume-based or hourly hiring).
- Experience supporting site-based or project-driven operations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and in office.
- Deep understanding of technical and professional mining roles and labor markets.
- Strong consultative and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced sourcing and networking capabilities.
- High level of autonomy, accountability, and self-direction.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to travel periodically to mine sites, project locations, and external events.
- Proficiency with Success Factors preferred and Microsoft Office tools.
