Job Summary
Visit Lake Tahoe is seeking a results-driven Sales & Services Manager to drive group business and event‑related revenue while increasing the destination’s overall economic impact. This role is responsible for selling and promoting venues and facilities across the destination for meetings, conferences, sporting events, and large‑scale gatherings.
Responsibilities include managing initial client inquiries (RFPs), preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, tracking sales performance, and coordinating closely with venue partners, operations teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution. The manager oversees lead management, develops potential sales strategies aligned with the DMO’s goals, cultivates strong relationships with planners and partners, and collaborates with other departments to create compelling destination‑wide packages that increase bookings and visitor spend and ensure overall client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Drive group sales and economic impact by meeting or exceeding booking and revenue targets
- Proactively source local, regional, and national group business
- Serve as the primary point of contact for meeting planners and event organizers
- Secure bookings through consultative selling, timely proposals, and strong relationship management
- Represent Visit Lake Tahoe at industry trade shows and sales missions
- Promote the destination’s venues, services, and overall capacity
- Manage RFPs, contracts, invoices, and sales reporting using Simpleview and related systems
- Maintain accurate records to support performance tracking and compliance
- Coordinate closely with venue partners and internal teams to deliver qualified leads
- Support destination‑wide promotions and group sales initiatives
- Analyze market trends and performance data to develop targeted sales strategies
- Increase bookings, room nights, and overall destination impact
Skills & Qualifications Experience
- 2–5 years of proven success in hotel sales, destination sales, or group sales
- Demonstrated results in revenue generation, booking growth, or room‑night production
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, business, or related field preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
- Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM/event platforms (e.g., Simpleview, Cvent, Playeasy, Triple Seat/Triple knot)
- Ability to problem‑solve and perform under pressure in fast‑paced environments
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with external partners
- Ability to travel (regionally and nationally) for business and work evenings or weekends as needed
- Salary:$75,000–$90,000 annually
