Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Nellis Air Force Base

Duties Duty 1:
Implements and administers the Information Security Program for the installation. Duty 2:
Administers the Industrial Security Program. Duty 3:
Implements and administers the Personnel Security Program for the installation. Duty 4:
Assists base unit and staff agency security managers in implementing security education and motivation programs. Duty 5 :
Assists with the planning, organization, and direction of the activities of the Plans and Programs Flight, ensuring the Flight complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs, Requirements Conditions of employment

* The employee will be required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
* Employee must maintain current certifications

* Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: applying knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.

Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and expertise in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. OR

EDUCATION:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

NOTE:

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE:

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
