Substitute School Bus Drivers  (Amargosa, Beatty, Pahrump, Round Mountain and Tonopah Areas)

Pay Range: $20.10/hr (base) – $20.10/hr (training hour $16.05). Training time 40 hours, reimbursed for license fees and exam.

Position Type: Substitute-Bus Driver/On‑call

Location: Nye County School District-Transportation

Job Goal: Provide safe and efficient transportation for District students. Prospective substitutes train to obtain NV Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and NV Dept. of Education endorsement. Sign contract for 24 months; positions may become full‑time.

• Provide safe, efficient transportation for students.
• Maintain vehicle and comply with FMCSA regulations.
• Complete required reports and records.
• Adhere to District policies and procedures.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Must pass reference, fingerprint background check, drug & alcohol testing.
• Must read, speak English to converse with public and understand traffic signs.
• Physically qualified to drive a school bus per FMCSA Physical Qualifications.
• Current valid Class B CDL license issued by Nevada or a border state with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Provide list of all FMCSA violations as required.
• Must not have been disqualified to drive a school bus under FMCSA regulations.

Will drive NCSD school buses/vehicles and use supplies necessary to perform job functions.
