William Charles Construction is now hiring for a Quality Control Coordinator in New Albany, IN.
The QC Coordinator ensures that all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical for maintaining quality assurance throughout heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, concrete, utilities, and structural components.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Implement Quality Plans
- Create and maintain a project-specific Quality Management Plan (QMP) outlining standards, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure the QMP aligns with contract requirements and regulatory standards.
- Perform regular site walks to inspect work during and after construction for compliance with specifications, plans, and safety regulations.
- Maintain thorough records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present reports on quality metrics and progress to senior management.
- Track and verify subcontractor compliance with quality requirements.
- Verify that all construction activities, materials, and safety measures adhere to industry standards, government regulations, and contract documents.
- Identify quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with the project team to implement effective corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to prevent recurring issues.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards throughout the project.
- Facilitate pre‑installation meetings and quality‑related training sessions.
- Help ensure a safe work environment by identifying and correcting potential hazards and ensuring adherence to safety plans.
- Assist in training site personnel on quality control policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
- 5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within heavy civil construction (roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork). Design‑Build experience preferred.
- Familiarity with DOT specifications and ASTM standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and testing procedures.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification
- NICET Certification
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
