- Night Shift – Hours 6:00 pm – 6:00 am – Wednesday/Thursday/Friday
- 36 hours per week / Paid for 40 hours. Overtime is available when needed.
- On‑boarding training on Day Shift for 4–6 weeks from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
The Plating Lab Technician is responsible for the monitoring, control, and maintenance of all plating baths. The technician will also perform gold usage analysis and reports, as well as other laboratory projects and analysis.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Work with integrity in a team environment to support Plating Production.
- Perform various analysis procedures to monitor the plating baths and water treatment systems in accordance with written procedures.
- Maintain the plating baths by making bath additions and performing necessary bath changes based on tests performed or guidance from a supervisor.
- Perform post-plating analysis, including ionic contamination analysis, porosity analysis, and gold usage analysis.
- Work on various plating projects, including the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
- Troubleshoot line problems.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with special projects as instructed by management.
- Adhere to all Samtec Quality Principles and actions.
- 2–5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
- One year of chemical laboratory experience in a professional or academic setting.
- Lifting requirements:
Medium work – must lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. - Must be able to sit or stand for over 90 consecutive minutes; not suffering from sensory deprivation or paralysis of limbs.
- Willing to work in a chemical environment and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication, proficiency with system applications, high analytical aptitude, and problem‑solving skills.
- Capability to work cross‑functionally with different departments/personnel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Experience in operation and maintenance of analytical equipment.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be pursuing a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering desired.
