Position DetailsSchedule:
Monday–Friday, 8: 00 AM–5: 00 PM
Overtime:
As needed
Travel:
Approximately 5% (mainly for occasional meetings in Gahanna)
Work Setting:
Onsite –in office five days a week
The SCADA Analyst Associate supports and maintains systems that monitor and control the electric power grid, ensuring safe and reliable delivery of electricity. The role includes responsibilities across two key areas:
Support the Energy Management System (EMS) and Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) platforms used in Transmission Operations.
Duties include:
- Providing guidance and support to less experienced analysts
- Training junior team members on tools, equipment, and software
- Ensuring reliable operation of EMS/SCADA systems
- Improving system performance, data accuracy, and reliability
- Maintaining real‑time data interfaces
- Developing and enhancing EMS/SCADA tools and software
- Keeping systems updated with current technologies
- Creating and maintaining custom one‑line displays
- Modeling, testing, and commissioning Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
- Building and maintaining EMS/SCADA models
- Recommending and defining internal EMS/SCADA standards
- Supporting Human Performance Initiative rules and related KPIs
Assist Protection & Control Engineering with SCADA standards, configuration, troubleshooting, and project support.
Duties include:
- Scoping small to medium SCADA projects with limited supervision
- Identifying process or tool issues and recommending improvements
- Performing complex RPA work and RTU configurations (legacy and modern systems)
- Expanding knowledge of communication technologies (async, sync, etc.)
- Providing support for common SCADA‑related issues
- Completing alarm and basic I/O settings for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Implementing standards with limited guidance
- Supporting SCADA compliance efforts
- Leading training activities as part of internal development programs
Education:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
OR High school diploma with two years of related military or electric utility technical experience
No prior experience required if education requirements are met
Additional RequirementsStrong understanding of relevant equipment and software
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, organizational, and facilitation skills
Experience with SCADA systems
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Willingness to provide after‑hours support as needed
Ability to learn and apply current technologies
Basic understanding of Protection & Control applications and their impact on SCADA
Willingness to learn substation equipment with guidance from senior team members
