Job SummaryEnsure compliance for Transmission Operations regarding the NERC reliability standards as applied by all Regional Reliability Organizations (RROs). Collaborate with Transmission, Generation, Commercial Operations, and Corporate units in compliance matters, interfacing with these business units during standards development and review. Develop, maintain, and monitor systems that track compliance, perform daily monitoring tasks, and conduct quarterly/yearly reviews to demonstrate adherence to NERC standards.
Provide guidance to lower‑level employees for daily tasks and establish methods to attain broad goals and objectives.
- Perform tasks required to ensure compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) reliability standards applicable to AEP.
- Validate report data against approval lists and generate audit‑evidence reports.
- Collaborate with business units to compile, validate, and capture evidence of compliance.
- Assist the Manager, Transmission NERC Compliance, to align reliability standards, strategy, documentation, and evidence with AEP policy and strategy.
- Coordinate with other Transmission Organizations, Commercial Operations, Generation, and Corporate units for compliance monitoring and tracking.
- Maintain systems that track and monitor compliance with NERC reliability standards and ensure that new standards are monitored appropriately.
- Guide others through reviewing and developing standards to enhance monitoring, tracking, and record‑keeping of evidence.
- Participate in periodic audits performed by RTOs and assist in internal audits as required.
- Education
- Associate's degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience in compliance and/or Information Technology.
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience for SG7 (NERC Compliance Specialist).
- Minimum 6 years of experience for SG8 (Senior).
- Minimum 10 years of experience for SG9 (Principal).
- Physical demand:
Sedentary. - Demonstrated highest standards of ethical behavior and support for Corporate Compliance policy.
- Strong communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation skills.
- Solid understanding of business unit/operating company systems preferred; experience with SCADA systems preferred.
This role is on site in New Albany, Ohio.
CompensationSG7: $86,783.00–$
SG8: $98,032.00–$
SG9: $115,126–$
