**** Help Build the Grid of the Future
** Join AEP's Transmission Line Engineering team and play a key role in designing and delivering the infrastructure that powers millions of homes and businesses. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact transmission projects while developing expertise in structural, geotechnical, and transmission line engineering.
** What You'll Do
*** Plan and scope transmission line projects
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
* Select and evaluate transmission structure types
* Review geotechnical reports and foundation recommendations
* Design transmission structure foundations
* Perform conductor tension, sag, and clearance evaluations
* Develop transmission line designs using PLS-CADD
* Support project scheduling, cost estimating, and project execution

* This position is posted at multiple grade levels and offers a range of opportunities for advancement. The minimum qualifications outlined below apply to the Engineer Associate level, with increased educational, skill, experience and certification requirements for higher level Engineers.
***** What We're Looking For
*** Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline in a program accredited by ABET
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Interest in structural, geotechnical, or utility infrastructure design
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* EIT certification or progress toward licensure preferred

Candidates with a Master's degree in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET  may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.
* ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
* Acceptable alternative is:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
** VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with a Non-ABET accredited program
