Job Description What you'll do:

Provide guidance on the interpretation of complex contractual and financial terms, review significant exceptions and disputes, and ensure vendor billing issues are appropriately identified, documented, escalated, and resolved in accordance with contract requirements.

Oversee financial control processes supporting accurate project and work order reporting for Operating Companies, Transcos, and Joint Ventures. Ensure Financial Controls Business Analysts appropriately monitor, review, and address financial control matters affecting subsequent financial transactions, including GLBUs, Accounts, AFUDC, Depreciation, Original Cost Asset Retirements, and related financial activities. Provide leadership and oversight for training initiatives related to financial and operational processes and associated IT applications. Ensure Financial Controls Business Analysts receive appropriate training, guidance, and ongoing development necessary to effectively execute assigned financial control responsibilities. Identify training needs, promote consistent application of processes and controls, and support the development and maintenance of effective training materials and practices.

Coordinate and oversee support provided to AEP Audit Services for vendor and operational audits, ensuring Financial Controls Business Analysts provide accurate, complete, and timely documentation and analysis. Review significant audit findings and compliance matters involving contractual financial Terms and Conditions, AEP policies, and applicable guidelines, and ensure appropriate corrective actions and follow-up activities are assigned, monitored, and completed.

Oversee the identification, review, and recording of unvouchered liabilities in accordance with applicable accounting policies, SOX requirements, and AEP Transmission guidelines. Ensure Financial Controls Business Analysts appropriately identify and submit accruals for un-invoiced vendor services, perform necessary reviews, and comply with established policies and procedures.
