Description: MEDICAL ASSISTANT - GENERAL MEDICAL CONSULTANTS INC.

• Greet patients and escort them to clinical areas
• Conduct patient visit interviews: confirm purpose of visit, review and record medical history, review medication list
• Obtain patient vitals; when indicated, complete EKGs, venipuncture, and collect urine specimens
• Document communications clearly and in compliance with professional standards; maintain supplies and equipment
• Perform cleaning and stocking of clinical supplies in lab and exam rooms
• Obtain lab results and clinical notes/dictations
• Post-appointment patient follow-up, including verification of completed diagnostic tests and medication changes
• Answer and triage incoming calls; communicate physician recommendations and/or report test results; call in prescriptions
• Patient scheduling
• Front office duties as needed: greet patients and visitors, collect insurance information, process copays or other payments
• Assist other team members with patient care

• Prior medical office experience preferred
• Excellent patient service skills and phone etiquette
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Strong problem-solving skills
