Clinic
Coordinates and advises on all aspects of the DME program, including insurance and billing. Assist patients with device fitting. Acts as a liaison between staff, physicians and the DME Manager.
Position Responsibilities- Attend department, clinic or company meetings as required
- Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns
- Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with staff
- Adapt to changing priorities and reprioritize work as needed
- Attend required annual in-service programs
- Adhere to company policies and procedures; follow facility safety requirements; identify potentially unsafe situations and notify a supervisor
- Fit patients with prescribed orthosis, including evaluation, modification, fitting, training on fit and function, and answering questions
- Accurately input patient information and ensure correct durable medical equipment is dispensed in the Breg Vision system
- Obtain necessary authorizations from Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, or private insurance for fitting and billing
- Assist DME manager with daily office operations: ordering products, maintaining binder, stocking and organizing products
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with monthly counts as directed by the DME Manager
- Coordinate with physicians to ensure required orthosis prior to surgery and arrange post-surgical fitting as needed
- Act as liaison between DME office and physicians on communications and paperwork
- Attend staff meetings and training; perform other duties to support DME operations
- Travel to other JIS locations as necessary
- Filing as needed within 24 hours
- Degree or Certificate in a health-related field or experience in Orthopaedic/DME
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to interface well with customers and co-workers with varying personalities
- Friendly, courteous, and good communication skills when greeting patients
Ability to hear and communicate, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and feel objects. May climb, pull, push, and kneel. Maximum unassisted lift 50 lbs; average lift 25-50 lbs.
