The HR Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the human resource department. The individual in this role may be involved in: recruitment, payroll administration and any other area of human resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides support for the recruiting process (e.g., schedule interviews, send background checks, attend job fairs/recruitment events as needed, conduct drug tests and contact select candidates).
- Coordinates the new hire orientation process (e.g., schedule orientation, prepare orientation paperwork, and create employee files), including I-9 completion/compliance.
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Provides support on auditing, review and processing paperwork and forms.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives, including engagement, job fairs and HR assessments.
- Must maintain confidentiality and perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Supports company Open Enrollment period to ensure smooth processing.
- Supports payroll processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.

Skills & AbilitiesEducation & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of Human Resources/payroll/clerical experience preferred.
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months ranging from mild to moderate.
