Solution Engineer – Operational Technology Systems
Hive+Co has a contract opportunity with our client in New Albany for an experienced Solution Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of critical tools that enhance the reliability and responsiveness of operational technology (OT) systems, including ADMS, EMS, and SCADA platforms. This role plays a key part in supporting capital projects and delivering new tools and features that optimize grid operations and strengthen overall system performance.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, implement, and support high‑quality software solutions aligned with architectural standards and best practices
- Build and enhance tools supporting ADMS, EMS, and SCADA environments
- Interpret technical specifications and develop advanced, scalable solutions
- Troubleshoot, test, and certify software through structured testing processes
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Business Analysts, and Infrastructure teams
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly and proactively
- Develop technical documentation and infrastructure support materials
- Contribute to RFP responses, proposals, and solution designs
- Recommend and implement process and system improvements
- Serve as a technical subject‑matter expert on software and system architecture
- Provide mentoring, training, and technical guidance to team members as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered
- Web Technologies: ASP.NET WebAPI, Web Forms, Blazor, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
- ORMs: Entity Framework, Dapper, Repo Db
- Databases: SQL Server, Postgre
SQL, Oracle (query development) - Scripting & Automation: Power Shell, Python
- Packaging & Deployment: WiX installer/packaging
- Collaborative team environment using Agile or Waterfall methodologies
- High‑impact role supporting mission‑critical operational systems
