Data Center Operations Manager , DCC Communities

Manage a team that maintains cloud infrastructure for global data center operations. AWS looks for technology managers with people management experience, strong technical understanding, and vision to elevate Data Center Operations. The successful candidate will create strategies, mentor people at all levels, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions.

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage performance of diverse team(s) of data center operation professionals across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Ensure day‑to‑day data center operations manage queue, 24/7 shift, and hardware logistics
• Become subject‑matter expert across all aspects of data center operations
• Measure and meet all operational KPIs and metrics
• Guide improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation
• Manage large scale events (outages) and act as call leader
• Improve work‑flows and throughput for data center operations
• Document and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
• Maintain on‑call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
• Passion for quality and quantity of services, continuously strive to improve customer experience

• 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience

• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience
• Experience in technical writing in a relevant field
• Certification in an applicable field like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or CND, Network+, Security+
• Experience with system management tools and client/server environments

Base pay range: $70,700/year to $158,000/year depending on geographic location. Pay may vary based on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
