Assistant Store Team Leader – Pet Supplies Plus

• Help your store team by example – greeting customers, assisting them with pet product selections, and supporting new puppy owners upon entry.
• Recognize local rescue coordinators and offer to host adoption events.
• Engage in conversations, help teammates choose between pet food brands, and analyze sales results to develop plans that maximize sales, neighbor engagement, and productivity with the Store Team Leader.
• Create a fun, positive environment for the team and neighbors, earning a reputation for neighborly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, pet‑centric service.
• Maintain a pleasant store atmosphere, even when dealing with puppy breath.
• Assist in operational management, adhere to policies on cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
• Promote team engagement and morale by recognizing achievements and supporting career goals.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and staffing of a fully staffed team.
• Provide coaching and feedback to foster a learning culture.
• Connect with community organizations for events and marketing opportunities.

• 2+ years of experience leading a retail team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; high school diploma / GED required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
• Physical ability to operate equipment (including a forklift), climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule, reliable transportation, drug‑tested, and 18 years or older.

Salary: USD $17.00 – $21.00 per hour
