We are currently hiring an OSP Lead Technician to work in New Albany, OH
. This role is a direct hire opportunity, joining a global team offering continued industry training.
- Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location.
- Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions (cold, snow, rain and heat).
- Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a data center environment.
- Experience in fiber splicing and testing.
- Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
- Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain data center cleanliness.
- Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules.
- Broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
- Must be capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians.
- Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.
- Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
- Be able to read and understand project design documents.
- Ability to install various types of innerduct (e.g.: Maxcell, 1.25" Microduct) and fiber optic cable.
- Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.
- Possess skills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.
- Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
- Track and review timesheets for your crew.
- Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs.
- Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent.
- Track lessons learned as they occur.
- Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks.
- Knowledge and understanding of project close out.
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of crew members.
- Must be able to drive company vehicles and the ability to pull and back up trailers.
- Must be able to blow fiber optic cables.
