JOB TITLE: Commercial Loan Officer STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Commercial Lending
REPORTS TO: Commercial Lending

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for presenting the bank in a positive manner to encourage loan growth, solicit new customers selling loan, deposit, and fee-based products and services through phone calls, referrals and other personal situations. The individual also services an existing commercial loan portfolio, promoting and cross‑selling those products and services to existing bank customers. The individual handles large and complex commercial loan customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Maintain goodwill with customers and prospects
• Enhance the bank's profitability through a combination of loan pricing and initiating new banking transactions (primarily deposits)
• Review loan documentation to prepare for loan closings
• Review loan presentations for bi-monthly loan committee meetings
• Manage an assigned commercial loan portfolio
• Ensure that loans are closed in a time frame consistent with customers' expectations, with particular attention to matured notes
• Create and maintain a courteous and professional relationship with co-workers while maintaining timely and prompt daily attendance

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/

SKILLS:

• Six to eight years related job experience

REQUIRED

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Office environment with little exposure to physical hazards or conditions
• Occasional same day travel between branches/customers using personal vehicle.
• Ability to enter data into a computer and work with computer programs:
  Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
• Ability to attend various bank functions and community events before and after the normal work day
• Involves some driving and exposure to weather and other risks associated with visits to clients' business sites
