Night Shift Premium
  • Night shift premium offered ($2/hr)
Must Work Hours

Must be able to work 4:30pm – 1:30am along with any required overtime which may include weekends.

Summary

The Fitter is responsible for assembling structural frameworks and housings from raw material. They prepare and fabricate metal components for the welding process.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
  • Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers, portable grinders, or arc‑cutting equipment.
  • Review any parts received from kitting area and compare the parts to the print.
  • Fabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, and gauges.
  • Operate and/or use forklifts, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, and instruments of measurement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Work Experience
  • Associates or Technical School.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance Requirements
  • This position may require a government security clearance.
