Summary:

The CMM Operators are responsible for the operation of manual Coordinate Measurement Machines and inspection activities to customer specifications using Verisurf Software.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manually measures parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools.
  • Verify conformity of products to the purchase order, drawings, inspection plans, routing process.
  • Verify quantities to the purchase order or bill of material.
  • Check for and report foreign object debris issues.
  • Inspect detail as required to marked up prints in quality job folder and manufacturing aid.
  • Create detail inspection report as required per customer requirements.
  • Maintain records of detail inspection reports to proper job folder.
  • Populate job TIRs.
  • with tag containing supplier, customer, job, detail, quantity, and next op.
  • Follow company procedures including Non-conforming process of any items rejected.
  • Liaison contact with internal/vendor quality representatives.
  • In-process and final inspection of details to ensure tool and components meet customer specifications.
  • Perform final manual inspections and layout techniques. Knowledge of final customer inspection documentation requirements. Responsible to archive job inspection folders upon job closure.
  • Ability to explain to management what is wrong with the tool/part, then assist in identifying and correcting the problem.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and

Work Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of CMM Operating experience in aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
  • Knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Indoors. Production and office environment. Temperature controlled, unless products and/or equipment is located outdoors.

Work Hours
  • Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.

  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
