Summary

The Tool Assembler – Tag  entails engraving lettering onto flat or curved metal surface using a computer-controlled machine to the customer specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Inputs project data into engraving machine.
  • Positions the part into the machine and push button starts the engraving machine.
  • Upon engraving completion, the operator removes the part to verify the data was transferred correctly and examine the engraving for quality of cut.
  • Provides the engraving to the correct location to put on the project.
  • On the job training from AIT Tool Assemblers when  it caught up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
  • This position may require a government security clearance.

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines.
