Lighthouse Bible Church is a mid-sized, well-established, Southern Baptist church located in Southeast Michigan. We are looking for a Godly man to replace our recently retired senior pastor.

Our congregation has a deep commitment to the Word of God and serving Christ by being a light in our community. We maintain a traditional Sunday school for all ages, including an active youth group and energetic AWANA program. We also participate in broader missional activities throughout our State and International Missions. Theologically, we hold to a Traditionalist or Provisionist understanding of the Bible as described in our statement of faith.

In addition, we also actively support pro-life ministries, such as Love Life and Compassion Pregnancy Centers.

We are prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who will humbly serve as the spiritual leader, preacher, shepherd and counselor for our church. He will be expected to provide visionary leadership and compassionate pastoral care to our congregation. He will also be a servant-oriented leader who is passionate about the authority of Scripture and committed to teaching its truths in a clear, compelling manner.

The pastor will be a visible, active presence in the life of the church and wider community.

• Preaching and Teaching:
  Deliver biblical, engaging, and relevant sermons during weekly worship services and lead Bible studies that align with our church’s statement of faith.
• Pastoral Care:
  Provide compassionate support and counseling to members of the congregation during times of need, such as grief, crisis, and personal struggle. This includes hospital and home visitations.
• Spiritual Vision:
  Work with church leadership to set and communicate the spiritual vision for the church’s growth and direction, in accordance to our church’s Constitution and By-Laws.
• Administration:
  Functioning as a supervisor to the church staff.
• Mentorship:
  Guide and mentor church staff and church leadership, fostering an environment of spiritual growth and collaborative ministry.
• Worship Music:
  Collaborating with the worship team to plan services that feature a blended style of worship music, honoring both classic hymns and contemporary praise.
• Community Engagement:
  Foster community relationships and lead outreach efforts to share the Gospel within the surrounding areas.

• Spiritual Calling:
  Must possess a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a sense of divine calling to pastoral ministry, meeting the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Theological Agreement: A firm commitment to and agreement with the SBC Statement of Faith. Find our Statement of Faith on our website.
• Denominational Ordination:
  Should be licensed as a pastor, preferably in a Southern Baptist church, or like-minded church and in full agreement with our above Statement of Faith.
• Experience:
  
  Demonstrated experience as a pastor or in a pastoral leadership role within a church setting, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Education:
  
  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; preferably from a Bible School or Seminary. A Master’s degree from an accredited seminary is preferred.
• Geographic Preference: A desire to minister within and familiarity with the Midwest or Southeast Michigan region is preferred.
