Harbor Oaks Hospital, New Baltimore’s leading mental health and addiction treatment center, is seeking a passionate RN Nurse Manager to work at our facility in New Baltimore, MI. At Harbor Oaks Hospital, safety is our top priority. We employ Personal Panic Alarm devices throughout all clinical and non‑clinical areas to provide immediate assistance at the press of a button.
Purpose StatementAssists the DON/CNO in directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the effective and efficient use of nursing operations for assigned units. Oversees delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with empathy, professionalism, and positive attitude. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs are met. Provides leadership to maintain compliance with local, state, federal regulations and nursing practice standards, prioritizing patient safety.
Responsibilities- Anticipate and manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources based on acuity measurements.
- Model exemplary customer service and demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety.
- Accountable for the standard of care, providing consultations and expertise in patient care delivery.
- Serve as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff.
- Manage staff activities, coordinating safe and effective care across departments and disciplines.
- Manage and evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service, or maintenance staff for the unit and broader facility.
- Analyze information to identify and propose best solutions to problems.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff.
- Identify educational needs and develop training programs.
- Assist with development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports to inform management on program status, service quality, and quality initiatives.
- Perform administrative or managerial functions such as budget planning and expenditure authorization.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- BSN or higher strongly preferred.
- Current registered nursing license in the state of the facility required.
- Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred; two years required.
- One year of experience with the facility’s patient population preferred; one year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.
- Prior experience as a house supervisor preferred.
- Current RN license as required by state.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
