Job Overview

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service in the Dairy department. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, maintain safety and cleanliness, and uphold quality assurance standards.

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer customer questions and provide product knowledge.
• Offer product samples and recommend dairy items.
• Check product quality, review sell‑by dates, and ensure freshness.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering, shipping discrepancies, and safety risks.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify appropriate manager of needed repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks and illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment, manage conflict, and act with honesty and integrity.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Retail experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, and subtraction).
