Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts
Reporting To: Engineering Project Manager
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform set‑ups and preventive maintenance on all assembly machines, high‑speed automation lines, and cell operations to maintain optimal performance.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain assembly production equipment daily to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform set‑ups, repairs, and troubleshooting on all assembly machines.
- Assist technicians with preventive maintenance on all assembly and secondary operation machines.
- Maintain set‑up and change‑over components on all assembly and secondary operation machines.
- Communicate real‑time status of assembly operations with the team leader throughout the shift.
- Ensure proper resins, colorants, and additives are used (verify material usage per work order/BOM).
- Maintain machines and associated equipment in optimum condition.
- Locate and eliminate sources of trouble in mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices and systems.
- Make necessary or routine machine adjustments and repairs to provide continuous production.
- Operate all machines and equipment to understand their function and repair them.
- Make tooling changes (size) within a reasonable time frame.
- Use visual KPIs to be results oriented.
- Support team members as needed.
- Develop and follow standardized work instructions to minimize machine downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate management.
- High School Diploma / GED Equivalent.
- 5 years mechanical experience with automation, assembly, and packing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills for production monitoring (IQMS, Word, Email, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on occasion or frequently.
