Primary FunctionA welder must be able to perform the following processes and procedures:
- Understand and operate welding equipment and accessories.
- Manually TIG weld dissimilar metals, such as cupronickel to stainless steel.
- Maintain weld quality and characteristics.
- Use basic fixtures and hand tools accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrate ability to produce quality welds using TIG and MIG processes.
- Identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality.
- Operate required machinery in the department.
- Perform at a high level of competence and efficiency.
- Ensure product quality and productivity to support company growth.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain good welding practices and inspect completed products for quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure safety and quality.
- Suggest improvements for production and quality processes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Read blueprints accurately.
Key technical skills include:
- Understanding and applying proper welding practices and procedures.
- Setting up computerized machines.
- Operating bending, flaring, and shaping equipment.
Production Supervisor
Education & Experience- High School Diploma or GED with technical training.
- Experience operating bending, welding, and punching equipment.
- Welding certification (e.g., ASME) preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Minimum of one year welding experience with similar and bi-metals.
- Effective communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good vision and hearing.
- Ability to work in noisy, hot, cold, and potentially hazardous environments.
- Wearing PPE as required.
- Willingness to work various shifts and overtime.
