Staff Physician- Pulmonologist | Moorland Reserve | Berlin, WI

Overview

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) offers an opportunity for a board eligible/board certified physician to work in a community/outpatient setting at Moorland Reserve Health Center in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and potentially in outpatient & inpatient settings at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VA) in Milwaukee, WI.

Join us in transforming health care and connecting communities as we provide exceptional care to diverse communities in southeastern Wisconsin. This position will consist of modest office hours, a 1:4 call rotation with weekend coverage, and support from the hospitalist with co‑management on ICU patients. We also utilize virtual nocturnal ICU coverage, with very limited after‑hours critical care needs, allowing us to offer an outstanding balance and quality of life.

A PFT lab and sleep center are onsite, and procedures such as central lines, intubations, and thoracentesis are optional but available. The open ICU allows hospitalists to see selected patients without critical care consult mandated unless critically ill requiring vasopressor support or mechanical invasive or non‑invasive ventilation. Responsibilities at the VA will include clinics, ICU, and pulmonary consult service weeks & procedures.

Sleep medicine training is helpful, though not necessary. Student teaching opportunities are available.

• Areas of expertise include accredited programs in cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung diseases; expertise in asthma, COPD, sarcoidosis, lung cancer, occupational & environmental respiratory problems, pulmonary embolism, sleep disorders, and fungal & mycobacterial lung infections.
• Multidisciplinary approach and continuity of care: broad experience in evaluation & treatment of patients with advanced lung disease and close involvement in post‑transplant care.
