Automation Manager – ABB

At ABB, a global industry leader, we help industries reach cleaner, leaner operations. This role supports the automation expansion at ABB’s US Motion Headquarters in New Berlin, WI, on the 2nd shift, impacting safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.

• Assist with the deployment, installation and programming of Vision Systems, SCADA, PLC Controls, Conveyor Automation, Digital Torque Systems, Robotics and related automation equipment.
• Deploy a plant‑wide SCADA network to provide connectivity and control to field devices.
• Support the installation of automation equipment on the production line, applying mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Contribute to the creation of safe automation practices while delivering the desired productivity and quality output.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Promote lean manufacturing concepts to ensure efficient production practices.

• 4+ years of experience in Controls, Systems, Automation and/or Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing, Automotive, etc.).
• Proven knowledge of Vision Systems, Digital Torque Systems, PLCs, Robotics and other automation equipment.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, self‑motivation, customer‑orientation, multi‑tasking and stress‑management skills.
• Associate’s degree in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering/science field preferred.
