Job Summary
Organizes and administers areas of Patient Care Services to attain the hospital’s objectives established by the health system.
Experience RequirementsRecent 3 years’ experience in ED nursing leadership at a hospital and/or multi-site hospital system. Minimum five (5) years prior experience in ED patient care services.
EducationAssociate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare management, or administration preferred.
Key Skills- Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local laws and accrediting organization standards
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively, maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians and all levels of staff
- Resolves staff concerns at all levels, utilizing the grievance process as required
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the health system
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment
- Able to work with all levels of staff to define business requirements and goals, and to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to foster effective relationships and build consensus through all levels of leadership in the organization
- Knowledge and ability to work on large‑scale complex projects that include multiple strategic goals and multiple tactical tasks
Current state license as a registered nurse. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
