Shift Lead (Walgreens)

Base pay range$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required system start-ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door of store for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Manage cash registers and record all related sales including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist the manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assist in reverse logistics, including 1506, returns, and empty packages.
- Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper stockroom organization. Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed, maintain basic department pricing and daily price changes, and ensure proper signage is displayed.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance, and request repairs as required.
- Assist in separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using FIFO method and restock outs.
- Assist at Pharmacy window as requested and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
- Ensure bag checks of team members before leaving the store and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members when store management is absent, communicating assigned tasks.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and sharing best practices to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
- Assist with and coach team members regarding warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening backdoor for vendor deliveries.
- Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtaining and maintaining valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
