Pre‑Apprentice – HVAC

Located in the New Berlin, WI facility and reporting to the Service Manager, the HVAC Pre‑Apprentice will assist the service department with maintenance of HVAC parts, learn to install and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler systems, and perform small maintenance items such as filter changes.

• Assist with HVAC service and installations

• Power wash HVAC equipment units
• Learn to perform filter changes on equipment
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in an HVAC program preferred
• Ability to communicate with internal team and customers
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to use hand and power tools

Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. May need to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

Physical demand level is medium work.

The job primarily involves working alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in all environments, including extreme cold or heat depending on the season. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
