Location and Type

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your Responsibilities
  • Works closely with site management team to effectively plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs that comply with all OSHA regulations ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all employees requiring application of engineering principles and technology to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions for all of the New Bern, NC facilities.
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date health and safety programs and services in accordance with approved standards and procedures, providing functional leadership to management.
  • Act as a representative for the ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 system.
  • Perform and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
  • Recommend process and product safety features that reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological workplace hazards.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Review plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements meet OSHA standards.
  • Report and review findings from accident investigations and facility inspections.
  • Administer required compliance reports to corporate and site management.
  • Inform site management immediately, through established procedures, of any health or safety matters requiring reporting to a government agency.
  • Conduct or direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide support and direction for factory safety committees.
  • Support accident investigation, root cause analysis, and maintain preventive & corrective action system.
  • Identify and provide a mandatory safety training program for associates and contractors.
  • Audit and provide counsel on the health and safety performance of each plant component, keeping management informed through established procedures.
  • Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams to facilitate emergency responses.
  • Confer with medical professionals to assess health risks and develop ways to manage health issues and concerns.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Pay & Incentives

Pay range: $76K - $101K

Annual Bonus: 5% incentive target

Qualifications
  • Four‑Year College degree in Safety – required.
  • 3‑5 Years of experience in Safety – required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) – a plus.
  • Travel: 10%
Your Pay & Benefits

Exact compensation offered may vary based on your skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible, payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details in the plan document.
