Position: CDC Material Handler I – 1st Shift

New Bern, NC – Full‑time

Your Responsibilities
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (lift truck, manual pallet jack, tuggers) to load, unload, and move product to and from trucks, storage, and loading docks.
  • Safely move materials on all equipment and keep operations compliant with BSH rules and procedures.
  • Maintain material handling equipment, including computers, mechanical scales, door locks, and related tools.
  • Load materials into vehicles, containers, and other transportation, installing strapping and padding to prevent shifting or damage.
  • Convey materials from storage to designated staging areas and record serial numbers with the correct lifting apparatus.
  • Follow written or oral instructions to move materials in a timely, scheduled manner to the customer.
  • Unload and sort materials from trailers and locate them in the warehouse, either by directed put‑away or open location.
  • Order picks and record units of materials moved on pick tickets.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels and mark information on cases, boxes, or other containers.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with equipment and keep the work area, machines, and equipment clean.
  • Palletize and wrap product for shipping.
  • Complete PM sheets for the lift before each shift and report any issues immediately.
  • Report all warehouse damages and segregate quality holds to ensure they are not shipped to customers.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
Your Profile
  • High‑School Diploma – Required
  • 0–2 Years of Warehouse Experience – Required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient use of PC‑based packaged software (data entry).
  • Skill in safely operating various material handling equipment (light‑duty forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levers, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of material flow and inventory control.
  • Experience with PC, telephone, calculator, light duty forklift.
Your Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $18.10 – $24.97 per hour. Incentive Plan: Annual bonus – target 1% of compensation.
