Job Title
Clamp Truck Operator I, 1st shift

Responsibilities- Loading and unloading product shipped or received at the Central Distribution Center, following all BSH and CDC rules and procedures.
- Safely operates industrial clamp/lift truck, manual pallet jacks, and other materials‑handling equipment on the distribution floor.
- Adheres to BSH guidelines by wearing and utilizing required PPE.
- Maintains material‑handling equipment including electronic computers, mechanical scales, doors, door locks, door levelers, battery chargers, and related equipment.
- Loads materials into vehicles, containers, and other transportation methods, installing strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Conveys materials from storage to designated staging areas and records serial numbers using the correct lifting apparatus.
- Follows written or oral instructions to move materials or containers in a timely, scheduled manner to the customer.
- Unloads and sorts materials from trailers and locates them in the Distribution Center, either by directed put away or open location.
- Orders picks and records number of units moved on a pick ticket.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, boxes or other containers.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with handling equipment and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
- Palletizes and wraps product for shipping.
- Completes PM sheets for lift before each shift and reports any issues immediately.
- Demonstrates efficient knowledge of handling signage (fragile, this side up, etc.)
- Reports all warehouse damages.
- Maintains inventory accuracy within 0.5%.
- Segregates all quality holds to ensure they are not shipped to the customer.
- Performs all other duties assigned.
- Standard forklift equipment – previous experience required.
- Clamp truck equipment – previous experience preferred.
- Maintains proper clamp pressure and handling requirements.
- Utilizes designated clamp pressure by product type to ensure proper handling techniques.
- Demonstrates proper clamp positioning by product type to ensure damage‑free handling.
- Properly handles clamp equipment while traveling to ensure loads are raised to the proper height from the ground.
- Uses slip sheets properly when stacking for stability.
- Inspects clamps to ensure safe operation and damage‑free product.
- High‑school diploma – required.
- Lift truck certificate – required.
- 0–2 years of warehouse/distribution experience – required.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to use RF scanners.
- Ability to safely operate class 4 material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable understanding of materials, inventory control, and overall distribution concepts.
- High degree of accuracy.
Pay range: $19.36 – $26.70 per hour.
Annual bonus incentive target: 1% of salary.
