Primary

Purpose:

Provide support for teachers in the implementation of research-based instructional strategies. Work directly with teachers to provide classroom demonstrations in rigorous standards-based teaching that results in academic success for all learners. Enhance teachers’ abilities to provide instruction that build students’ skills and content knowledge, is academically rigorous, addresses the curriculum standards and enhances students’ engagement and ownership of learning.

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, Master’s degree (preferred).
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred.

• At least 5 years teaching experience.

• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
• Ability to share and present proven instructional practices.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of successful classroom management and experience with planning for effective instruction.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data for the purpose of designing effective instruction.

• Work parallel with teachers in designing instruction that provides success for all learners.
• Provide Collaborative and one-on-one instructional coaching; facilitate teacher inquiry and related professional development.
• Coach and plan with teachers in the development of standards aligned daily, weekly and unit lesson plans.
• Coach teachers in using data to determine areas of need and problem solving appropriately aligned solutions.
• Plan for professional learning opportunities aligned to district, campus and teacher Goals.
• Analyze and interpret data for the purpose of designing effective instruction.

• Impact student achievement through the development and guidance of implementation of research based instructional practices.
• Provide ongoing professional learning through modeled lessons within the classroom setting.
• Lead learning communities and professional learning opportunities based on campus and district needs as well as goals.
• Conducts classroom observations as a part of the coaching cycle and provides immediate critical feedback to enhance classroom instruction (not evaluative).
• Supports teachers in the development of purposeful standards aligned formative and summative assessments.
• Support staff in achieving professional goals through personalized professional development.
• Support the academic achievement of At Risk learners.

• Build relationships across all levels of stakeholders to ensure a positive learning Environment.
• Leads professional learning opportunities for campus.
• Facilitates data meetings with grade level teams.
• Facilitates planning during district planning opportunities such as Quality Instructional Learning Time.
• Uses effective instructional strategies and communication when facilitating adult learning.

• Is a member of and/or supports the Campus Site Team in the development of the campus strategic plan.
• Attends district level meetings and trainings and is a liaison between district and campus.
• Communicates and collaborates with district-level curriculum consultants and program leaders to ensure rigorous, relevant curricula and instructional practices that will increase student achievement.
• Effectively communicates and works collaboratively with all stakeholders.
• Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and Community.
• Organize, maintain and submit documentation as required by local, state and federal guidelines.
• Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
