• Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs by selecting and operating appropriate radiographic equipment and C.T. images, utilizing a
  
  C. T. scanner and computed tomography techniques.
• Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification and recording of the procedure.
• Assists practitioner with fluoroscopy and the advanced scope of practice in C.T. by being registered with the ARRT.
• Practices aseptic techniques as necessary; understands methods of venipuncture and other sterile techniques, in agreement with state statutes and/or institutional policy, preparing, identifying, and administering contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Assumes responsibility for assigned areas, quality control of equipment and reports equipment malfunctions, use of computing, digital imaging processing concepts and instrumentation to 3D concepts.
• Ensures proper documentation and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

The CT Tech specializes in computed tomography and performs diagnostic procedures utilizing radiation detection and imaging equipment, providing quality care to patients of all age groups—from newborn to elderly—according to department standards.

Graduate of an accredited school of Imaging Technology.

0‑1 year with competency in components of computerized tomography.

Possession of a current Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology and C.T. documentation of approved training or possession of a current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license. Must have ARRT &CT Registry within one year post‑graduation from an accredited school.

BLS – Obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
