This role provides leadership, consultation, and support for the Staffing Office/Bed Control function and patient service areas. It ensures administrative continuity for staff, patients, families, and visitors, and acts as a liaison for the administrator on-call and the clinical management team.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Accurately assess staffing needs of inpatient nursing departments based on skill mix and acuity. Serve as the primary facilitator of patient throughput and administrator for electronic bed flow and patient tracking systems.
  • Assist in communicating staffing and scheduling policies and incentive programs to all staff.
  • Manage all staffing resources to accommodate census fluctuations, including resource staff, floating employees, and contract labor.
  • Oversee all contract labor utilization for cost efficiency and competency.
  • Provide on-site leadership, direction, and support for operational management and problem resolution.
  • Serve as the primary communication liaison between the administrator on call, nursing management, patients, families, visitors, and administration.
    • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing

    Experience:

    At least 3 years of clinical RN experience and 3 years of progressive management and/or supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field; 1-year management experience as a charge RN, clinical care manager/supervisor, or manager.

    Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations

    Required:

    Current RN license to practice professional nursing in Texas. Must obtain Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
