- Create proposals and bid documents in response to RFQs from Safran Test Cells customers.
- Analyze project technical requirements and coordinate with sales, project management, engineering, procurement and other stakeholders to develop cost‑effective solutions that provide the best value to our customers.
- Collect and analyze all project costs—including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling—to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of costs.
- Update costs as necessary based on new information and changes to project scope.
- Contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project and consult with STC Engineering Management, comparing new bids with historical bids to develop cost and price estimates for similar projects.
- Develop cost estimates, proposals, compliance matrix and other bid documents to describe the solution that is being bid.
- Ensure proposal, bid documents and price estimates are consistent with each other.
- Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to balance competing priorities of cost and function, developing cost‑effective solutions that provide best value to customers.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to develop solutions compliant with customer requirements.
- Partner with STC Chain Management to identify vendors and obtain quotations for sub‑contracted work.
- Assist STC Supply Chain Management to maintain effective communication between suppliers and STC.
- Participate in sales discussions with customers and assist Sales in detailed scope discussions.
- Mentor and train more junior team members (dependent on level).
- Assist other Project Estimators and Quoting Manager with developing supporting bids from Safran Aero Boosters EU counterparts on STC International proposals.
- Develop and maintain cost estimates and proposal text for standardized equipment.
- Participate in the development of promotional activities such as sales literature development and standard costing models.
- Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office with high proficiency in Excel and Word, and knowledge of MS Project and PowerPoint. - Detail‑oriented self‑starter with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and communicate goals, objectives, and accomplishments to team members.
- Strong analytical skills.
