Position: Interim Workers Compensation Manager (ID:47490)

Interim Workers Compensation Manager ()

The Interim Workers’ Compensation Manager will manage a full portfolio of litigated and non‑litigated claims, lead claims strategy and settlement decisions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, cost‑effective resolution. This hands‑on role also includes review of reserves, investigation oversight, and partnership with leadership to advise on risk and claims management processes.

Salary: Hourly rate between $60‑$70, DOE

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of workers’ compensation claims, both litigated and non‑litigated
  • Partner with operating company safety leaders, claims staff, and TPAs to drive claim resolution
  • Lead investigation of incidents, evaluate liability, and interpret state statutes
  • Oversee insurance claim reserves and provide accurate analysis for management decisions
  • Negotiate settlements within the $1M deductible and present recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate and lead quarterly and monthly claim reviews with leadership, TPAs, carriers, and brokers
  • Advise HR and operational partners on claim strategy, risk mitigation, and best practices
  • Support additional risk management and insurance‑related projects as needed
Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years in workers’ compensation, risk management, or insurance claim management
  • Experience managing both litigated and non‑litigated claims
  • Strong knowledge of multi‑state WC statutes and coverage analysis
  • Expertise in claims negotiation and settlement strategies
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with RMIS platforms, Origami, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lead multiple parties toward effective resolution in a fast‑paced environment
