OverviewBasic Function:
Under supervision, process screen products to meet the requirements of the customer.
- Operate various machines on the production floor; some specialization may be necessary.
- Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machines as outlined on each machine.
- Use gauges and standards to ensure product quality, identify concerns, and report to a supervisor.
- Accurately read work orders and fill out NCRs, maintaining records of material and time related to a work order.
- Maintain a clean work space and abide by all safety rules.
- Process work through assigned machine in accordance with cycle times while maintaining high product quality.
- Utilize Enginius to track accurate labor time while working.
- Use packaging tools such as a bander and tape gun.
- Understand how to locate head and faceplate, wire guides, and set up machines; load programs and make offset adjustments.
- Operate a rod cutter (Small Diameter) and perform basic splicing knowledge; differentiate good vs bad product and understand different wire profiles and materials.
- Load and adjust machine offsets, interpret measuring tools (dial calipers, micrometers, dial indicators), and understand machine operation details (set up, dressing wheel, wheel dullness, splicing wire).
- Demonstrate good attendance, reliability, organization, math and computer skills; communicate needs for time off.
- Promote safety, quality, and production; navigate job systems, clocking in/out, issuing/receiving material, and maintenance requests.
- High School Education or equivalent; two-year degree preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience with metalworking, especially mild and stainless steel.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read micrometers and calipers; interpret routers and bills of materials; use hand tools.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others; possess mechanical aptitude.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required.
