As an Application Development Intern, you will join APi Group’s Information Technology team and work in a collaborative development team to solve an identified business need. You will partner with business stakeholders and IT leaders throughout the application development life cycle: from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, delivery, and presentation. This internship provides practical experience building enterprise applications using the Out Systems low‑code development platform.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges, user needs, workflows, and desired outcomes.
• Participate in requirements‑gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Help design application workflows, user experiences, data structures, and solution features that balance user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Design and build an enterprise application using the Out Systems low‑code development platform.
• Develop and configure application screens, workflows, business logic, integrations, and data components appropriate to the assigned solution.
• Test application functionality, document and help resolve defects, and incorporate feedback from users and project mentors.
• Work collaboratively within a development team; participate in planning, progress updates, demonstrations, stakeholder reviews, and feedback sessions.
• Maintain project documentation, including requirements, decisions, test results, user guidance, and recommended next steps.
• Participate in a friendly innovation challenge between intern development teams and communicate the solution’s business value and future opportunities.
• Present the completed solution, development approach, business impact, and lessons learned to APi Group business and IT leaders.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technology field.
• Strong interest in software development, application design, and solving business problems through technology.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts, logic, and data structures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn new technologies in a collaborative environment.

• Familiarity with web application development concepts and practices.
• Experience working with databases, data models, or SQL.
• Exposure to Out Systems or another low‑code/no‑code development platform.
• Experience working on team-based technical, academic, or personal development projects.
• Ability to organize work, incorporate feedback, and communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences.

• Practical experience across the software development life cycle, including discovery, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and delivery.
