ASNT NDT III Quality Engineer

Summary:

Polamer Precision is looking for an individual with active ASNT NDT level 3 certification and extensive experience with fluorescent penetrant inspection to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role responsible for product quality engineering functions particularly related to new product introduction and the development of internal NDT capability. New product introduction responsibilities may include developing the product inspection plan, choosing gauging/inspection methods and building first article packages.

NDT responsibilities will focus on the development of fluorescent penetrant inspection capability. This will include selecting equipment and writing procedures to satisfy customer requirements to gain source approval. This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity for the right candidate looking for increased responsibility and a trajectory towards leadership.

Experience:
  • 1+ years overseeing penetrant inspection as an ASNT NDT level 3.
    • 3+ years experience in an aerospace product quality role.
Educational Requirement:
  • 2-4 year college degree in an engineering related field.
Level of Supervision:
  • Largely independent, Reports to director of Quality, works closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and inspection department.
Expected Knowledge and

Skills:
  • Well versed in AS9100, AS13100 product quality requirements.
  • Proficiency with standard measuring tools including: calipers, micrometers, profilometers, height gauges, swing gauges, bore gauges.
  • Ability to interpret a CMM report and identify issues based on CMM results.
  • Working knowledge of common Aeroengine manufacturer’s FPI requirements.
    • FPM Master and related
    • P3TF2, P3TF47 and related
    • RRP
      58003 and related
Expected Responsibilities:
  • Assist in generating first article (FAI) package by:
    • Populating dimensional records for characteristics on print.
    • Performing any required Gage R&R or correlation studies to satisfy FAI requirements.
  • Work with management to define an internal fluorescent penetrant inspection program.
    • Aid in capex planning, identification and quoting of new NDT equipment.
    • Navigate customer NDT qualification.
    • Create department standard work for FPI.
    • Train level 2, level 1 employees.
Reporting Structure:
  • Reports to Director of Quality.
Salary Guide:
  • 100-120k
