Location:

233 Main St., New Britain, CT 06051. Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider with seven locations, dedicated to recovery from mental illness and substance use. CMHA is Connecticut’s first fully Joint Commission accredited Behavioral Health Home and a SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

Compensation:
The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour. Compensation also considers years of experience, education, skills, internal pay equity, and benefits.

Job

Position Summary

The Referral Engagement Specialist is responsible for processing referrals to CMHA services, ensuring excellent customer service, adherence to CMHA policies and licensure requirements, and engaging referral sources and/or referred clients into treatment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Patient Access Representatives to assist with quality control, client satisfaction, and performance management.
  • Attend external events/meetings to promote CMHA services and establish professional relationships with external entities as the point of contact for referrals.
  • Receive referrals for treatment from external providers, hospitals, schools, and self-referrals and coordinate scheduling of appointments.
  • Assist with new client registration to ensure accurate information for the client management database, including current insurance status, demographics, updated contact information, and responsible party.
  • Collaborate with Program Coordinators and Clinical Directors regarding patient care coordination to access our system of care.
  • Retrieve, copy, and forward chart/medical record information to facilitate client visits.
  • Answer multi-line phones to screen and route callers, take messages, and schedule appointments to maintain optimal client flow.
  • Input all client information in the system and ensure accuracy.
  • Follow up on Intake/Psychiatric Evaluation no-shows and assess scheduling problems for the Open Access Center.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid DMV License.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an office environment.
